About Melanie Zimmer
Melanie Zimmer was born and raised in Buffalo, NY and will be graduating from Northeast Ohio AuD Consortium Program in May 2022. She also has her undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences from the University at Buffalo.
She chose a career in audiology because she loves helping people, and has spent a lifetime of volunteering and helping others. She had always felt that hearing is taken for granted, especially since hearing loss can be so isolating and debilitating. She plans to prioritize patient care and hopes to focus her work on cochlear implants and other implantable devices.
Melanie was a member of the Humanitarian Committee of NOAC’s chapter of the Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) for two years and was also previously the national SAA liaison for her chapter.
