Quick Speech-in-Noise Testing
The Quick Speech-in-Noise (QuickSIN) test is a supplemental test that measures an individual’s ability to comprehend speech when background noise is present. The chief complaint of hearing aid users and the hearing impaired is difficulty understanding speech in noise (SIN).
At Hearing Evaluation Services (HES), we use QuickSIN alongside hearing threshold tests like tympanometry and OAE testing to obtain a thorough understanding of your hearing health and individual needs. QuickSIN is also particularly useful in hearing aid selection and customization (e.g., determining the most appropriate amplification strategy). The results of QuickSIN can indicate if these hearing aid modifications will be beneficial.
