Headshot of Jenna Hendler, Audiologist at Hearing Evaluation Services of Buffalo

Jenna Hendler, Au.D.

Doctor of Audiology

Jenna Hendler, Au.D. is a native of Clarence, NY, and graduated from the University at Buffalo with a degree in Hearing Science from the Communicative Disorders and Sciences Department. She also minored in counseling. She graduated with her Doctorate in Audiology in May 2021 from the same University.

Dr. Hendler has been with HES since September 2019, starting off as an Audiology Assistant at the Williamsville and Amherst offices. She completed her clinical residency with HES, at Buffalo Medical Group ENT Department performing audiometric evaluations, and at Dent Neurologic Institute performing balance assessments from 2020-2021

She chose audiology because of the profound impact it has on a patient’s quality of life and interpersonal relationships. Her graduate capstone project focused on examining the effects of a sound therapy device for tinnitus patients over a nine-month period. In addition to this, Jenna spent two weeks in London, England observing and learning about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a form of audiologist-delivered treatment for tinnitus and hyperacusis patients in a hospital-based setting. She looks forward to continuing her education and refining her clinical skills to best support the needs of her patients.

Dr. Hendler has been very active in her graduate program and working alongside her clinical peers to educate and increase public awareness about hearing loss and prevention. She was formerly the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Buffalo Chapter of the Student Academy of Audiology at the University at Buffalo, where she worked with fellow E-Board leaders to organize and manage various volunteer opportunities.

While at HES, she hopes to gain more experience working with cochlear implants, bone anchored hearing aid devices, and to continue performing diagnostic vestibular evaluations. Jenna also has an interest in specializing in tinnitus.

Outside of HES, she enjoys taking her dog, Rocky, for a walk, spending time with her husband, kayaking, and reading books.
